From Meet n Greet to Board Seat
With Pat Crosscombe & Bonnie Oakes Charron
Join us for this 4-part series about engagement, recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new directors. We’re going to let you in on our weekly coffee talks…. discussions about board management, technology, and good governance – all while sampling the results of Pat’s weekly effort to bake the perfect oatmeal cookies. Pat will voice the condo board perspective, and Bonnie the not-for-profit board perspective, looking for ways to identify the commonalities and unique aspects of both.
Part 1: Get on Board: How to Increase Engagement Now
In this blog post, Pat and Bonnie address the issue of engagement. We focus on the top four ways to get owners engaged with condo affairs, and on the not-for-profit side, how to get supporters engaged with the organization and its work.
Part 2: Get on Board: How to Increase Recruitment Now
In this blog post, Pat and Bonnie address the issue of recruitment. We’ll focus on ways to get owners to take a central role in condo affairs, and on the not-for-profit side, how to reach supporters with a keen interest in the organization and support them through the application process for a board seat. In the next post, we’ll discuss how to deal with onboarding of the new recruits and later, how to deliver high-quality orientation that inspires them to continue learning throughout their term of office.
In parts 3 and 4, we consider onboarding the new team, and what type of orientation and education to provide as their terms progress.
Coming soon. Stay tuned.
